GLOBAL PORTRAITS
GLOBAL PORTRAITS – global collaborations connecting images, text and music in an improvised environment.
The global portraits project is focusing on the improvised moment where artists who do not necessarily know each other beforehand collaborate on a performance in a fixed amount of time. The performance represents a finalized composition and will be released. How is that possible? Within the frames of global portraits we can prepare that moment and still leave space for improvisation. Also, we can support disconnecting from old habits through the novel meetings.
The final product we aim at is a multidimensional portrait of a person, based on pre-selected image material and an authors reflections over that image.
In the improvised portraying process the participating artists naturally become very honest to their musical choices and open in their collaboration with other artists they do not know beforehand.
In order to support the context bound experience of the performance we will add interviews and information about the participating artists to the final product as well.
Each global portraits session will be released in terms of an app for iPhones, iPads and similar Android devices, and will include the music, text material, image(s), performance movie, and interviews of participating artists.
